Hackney Children's Theatre

Stage design for the Hackney Children's Theatre in the Round Chapel, Hackney. The design draws on motifs from castles and heraldry to create a playful environment for the amazing performances by the organisation and other visiting theatre groups. The stage, which will be built by volunteers, features freestanding fabric-covered frames to create a layered proscenium and colourful hanging banners and flags which drop from the timber trusses above. The stage can be deployed in a number of arrangements and can be packed away when the hall is being used for for other activities and events.
