Abney Park Cemetery
Emil Eve Architects provide services as Conservation Consultants to Abney Park Cemetery in Stoke Newington, London.
The park is one of the ‘magnificent seven’ garden cemeteries which were established around London in the 1830s. It is a woodland memorial park and Local Nature Reserve, managed by the London Borough of Hackney.
Recently EEA has led the project for the repair and conservation of two Grade II Listed Monuments: the monument to John Swan, the inventor of the screw propeller, and Joanna Vassa, daughter of Olaudah Equiano, England’s most important black abolitionist.
