1960's Stilted House
Sensitive refurbishment and extension of a stilted detached houses built along a stretch on the river Stort in the village of Roydon, Essex. The four-bedroom house is an example of late 1960s modernist architecture.
A new extension volume is lifted on stilts to the rear of the house to complement the architectural language of the original building and to reduce its visual impact from the surroundings. Crisp detailing will establish it as a contemporary addition to the home.
